What information about me is shown on the website?

Your name and contact details remain confidential. These are only provided to another member after both of you have agreed to work with each other.

I can't see a profile or message that has been submitted

Listings and messages are moderated. Please allow time for a Moderator to approve any online listing or messages sent to other members. During business hours this is normally the same day, but at busy periods or if submitted outside working hours your posting may not be approved until the next working day.

How to I communicate with another member?

Members communicate online through the Message centre. Please do not include any company names or direct contact details in your communications as they will be disallowed by our Moderators. The Message centre lets you ask and answer questions about yourselves and the job.

How to I work with another member?

This needs to be initiated by the Employer. The Employer logins in, and selects 'Work with an Assistant', which shows a list of candidates being considered. The Employer selects the candidate and clicks 'Work With Assistant' then proceeds to the 'Handshake'. Before proceeding to a 'Handshake' with another member it is assumed that both members have agreed via the 'Message Centre' that they understand the 'Handshake' and wish to do this.

What is the online 'Handshake'?

The 'Handshake' is initiated by the Employer. The Assistant then responds with a 'Handshake'. The system will automatically email the other member when you 'Handshake' and both members can see the progress when they login and view the menu option 'Your Job Offers'. When both members have paid their fee, each will automatically be able to see the others members contact details on their profile when viewed from 'Your Assistants List' (if you are an Employer) and 'Your Employers List' (if you are an Assistant).

What are the fees?

The Employer has greater resources and pays £20.00, the Assistant pays £10.00.

Why do you charge?

We have become the top resource for employers searching for Virtual Assistants because of the number of enquiries that result in a job being offered. The fee is one of the reasons for this. By charging a small fee Employers know that our services does not attract time-wasters; for busy Employers this is a major issue. The fee also encourages both Employers and Assistants to provide clear information to each other about job requirement, abilities and expectations through the Message Centre before proceeding to 'Handshake'. As a result most 'Handshakes' result in jobs being offered and taken up by our Assistants. The fact that Assistants are committed enough to pay a fee, albeit a modest one, makes it less one-sided and gives the Employers much more confidence in the seriousness of our Members. Our fee is well within the means of even the smallest business and much more viable that the typical fee of around 10% of annual salary charged by Employment Agencies.

What if I pay and the other member does not?

Before proceeding to a 'Handshake' with another member you should first check that they also want to proceed. It rarely if ever happens when both members have agreed to 'Handshake'. However, if the Message centre clearly shows that both members have agreed to 'Handshake' and one does and the other does not, the defaulting member can receive a rating which reflects this.

How much will a Virtual Assistant charge?

Rates and fees are negotiated by each individual Virtual Assistant and employer.

Can I work with more than one Assistant or Employer?

Yes, you can work with as many members as you wish.

Who is responsible for matters such as income tax or other aspects of employment?

All matters in respect of tax and National Insurance, or any other financial or legal aspects of employment law, are the responsibility of the employer and the person employed as determined by the type and nature of the employment.
