Tips to Help Employers Choose You
- Don't tick more skills and sector experience than you really have. If an employer is
looking for a specific skill, they choose candidates that have the selection of skills
they need, in preference to candidates that are 'Jack of all trades'.
- Don't place your contact details in your online CV. Our moderators will remove your
account if you do.
- Don't use false names in order to open up multiple accounts. Your real name is not shown
on the public search, but if an employer selects you they will naturally need to know your
real name for payment or contract purposes. If your real name does not match the name you
have provided, employers are advised not to work with Assistants who break the rules.
- Don't use ALL CAPS for your CV. It looks like you are shouting or cannot type. Your CV
will look better if it is properly typed. Please limit it to around 150-200 words. Most
employers select a number of potential candidates and quickly scan the CV for the key
points, so don't make it too long.
